become a solution

We don't know where we are going. We only have one intention: covering at least 40'000 km, 40 countries, 18 months and 5 continents. A world circumnavigation, from West to East. The tour starts and ends in Lucerne, Switzerland.
We will take off for a tour around the world in a solar powered vehicle. We want to visit scientists, politicians and all those people who care about global warming. We will report daily, how people are trying to stop global warming in the different countries of this world, and we want to show that solutions are available and everybody can be part of the solution.
For this, for the first time in history, we are driving a car, powered by solar energy, around the whole world. Without making pollution. Without producing CO2. But with joy of life, humour and the spirit of pioneers. Join us! Become a solution!

This blog will tell you how it is to travel the world trying to raise awareness for a sustainable mobility and lifestyle. This blog will try to entertain you with adventures and some reality life. This blog will try to give you some aspects to think. This blog will show sustainability is sexy. Stay tuned….

What about when you have to cross oceans?
I agree with this idea but im a little curious at how you plan on crossing oceans. Jet's and Barges all use some sort of fuel which causes CO2 emissions. If you're trying to go around the world without CO2 emmisions, you must find a way to cross. I still think this is a good idea though. You are deffinately proving a good point.

Oceans
Hi Craig,

You are totally right, it's nearly not possible to go around the globe without spending some crude oil for any transportation.
Even when we were hitchhiking with the Rainbow Warrior, the famous Greenpeace vessel, from Bali to New Zealand we were producing greenhouse emission.

The oceans between the continents are not part of our project. We show the future mobility for the road. We want to raise awareness for electric mobility, renewable energies and sustainable lifestyle.

For the ocean parts of our world tour, we buy CO2-Certificats with cdm-gold-standard. This means, our carbon emission will be seriously offset.

Of course it would be great if we could offer a solution for the sea freight as well, but this is too much for a private initiative like the Solartaxi .

Thanks for your comment.

sunny regards Thomas
